As a mother this one of the toughest things I have had to go through... I never thought in a million years I would have to bury my son, especially to the hands of police officers.. the ones we are suppose to call for help to and trust. When I think of my son, Jaylin... I remember him being quiet.. calm and that smile that would light up your day. An aspiring rapper with no rhythm like his mother with a heart of Gold. A young man that loved his family and friends. He would give you his last dime. I remember a gentleman.. a protector who was yet so soft spoken. Jaylin was very intelligent and conscious, which made him so ahead of his time. I remember a young man that challenged any idea or thought and that made him a great researcher. He always asked "Why" and waited for the answer. My baby was my best friend.. I miss him dearly, not a day go by that I don't cry out for him.

Jaylin was such a gentleman, he would let all the ladies of the xpress bus first.

Dear Penny, Harold and I are keeping you, Ashley and your family in prayer. We found out about Jaylin's passing.... that's why I was trying to reach you. We just happened to stop by the church and saw the lovely program. We could not believe it! We are saddened and very sorry to hear of his passing. We will remember his sweet and shy smile, all the A's he used to get and his kindness towards us.
